We use our DriveHQ account to receive daily file uploads from one of our partners via FTP (ftp.drivehq.com).

Since 08/07/2026 these uploads have been failing. The control connection on port 21 and the login work correctly, but the passive-mode data channel is dropped.

Our partner's firewall only allows explicitly whitelisted ports, and the server is announcing dynamic passive ports (they have observed ports ranging from 5093 to 12939).

Could you please confirm the exact passive (PASV) port range used by ftp.drivehq.com?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Assunto: Re:Passive FTP port range for ftp.drivehq.com

Based on your information, it is caused by your partner's firewall settings. DriveHQ has huge number of FTP users. To support very high concurrent connections, it uses a very wide port range. The port range is dynamically configurable.

If they connect to our FTP server with passive mode FTP, then our FTP server does not need to connect to their FTP client. The passive data connection is established by their FTP client connecting to DriveHQ's FTP server. This operation is generally considered very safe or very low risk. They just need to configure their firewall to allow outbound connections. For stronger security, they can allow outbound connections to our FTP server's IP address only. (66.220.9.50 for ftp.drivehq.com and 66.220.9.51 for proftp.drivehq.com). If they must add a port range, please use a wide range of 4000 to 50000.
